Would you like to have a more prosperous and harmonious life? Would you like to make your relationships stronger and more supportive? In short, would you like to change your life for the better? Vastu shastra assures you all this and much more.Feng Shui has been widely poularised in the last decade and its secrets lay open to the West.
But Vastu Shastra, a 5,000-year-old Indian architectural and design philosophy, has lately occupied the centre stage. Think over it. There must be some corner I your office where you feel uncomfortable or depressed? Contrary wise you must feel relaxed and refreshed in some other place in your office? The place where you are also affects you mood, your potentials and your limitations. Every direction has a vibration of its own. One needs to carefully understand which tasks suit in which vibration. We all can do it for ourselves by understanding the principles of nature a little closely through the medium of Vastu shastra.
The principles behind the philosophy are linked to the five elements present in all nature: earth, air, water, fire, and ether (or space). Our body is also made of these five elements and therefore keeping these elements in balance is very much important for our well being. The five senses of the human body are also linked to those elements; earth to smell, air to touch, water to taste, fire to sight, and ether to hearing. Neatly, each of the five elements also corresponds to a direction, enabling the correct placement of rooms and furniture.
The principles of Vastu can be used in the office space to create a productive environment. First things first, if your office is situated in an open space it is necessary that you enclose the boundary of the office with a wall and if that sounds difficult, have it enclosed within a fence, barbed wire or grills. This ensures a proper receptacle of energy and makes your office a cozy and trustworthy; a place where people help each other and secrets are preserved. Next step is to make sure that all doors of your office open properly and are not jammed by furniture etc.
This is done to maximize the energy coming inside the office which in turn will make sure that you get the right opportunities for your business. Now, arrange your work desk such that you have the support of a solid wall at your back. Mind you, Vastu warns you against having any window at your back so, if you have it that way you now know the reason for dissatisfaction in your professional life. Have a look of the way your office should be structured:
• The senior most people/directors should occupy South-West and if that is not possible they must at
• least position themselves in the West & South Zones.
• The middle management should be placed in North & East zones.
• The field staff should sit in North-West Zone.
• The accounts staff/ engineering staff/ artist should be placed in South-East zone Reception/ Visitors/ Temple/ Drinking Water etc. should be positioned in North-East zone to get the maximum benefits.
• Facing of staff should be towards North or East direction. North East corner should be empty.
