Tattoo Health Risks
Tattoo is a symbolic art that define people's beliefs and identity and is also a method to convey a special message across. But it art carries a dangerous risk of serious infections, like HIV and hepatitis C which makes it advisable to make sure the shop is using clean instruments and disposable needles.
Before going for a tattoo, you must acknowledge yourself about the possible health hazards involved. A research done by 'The American Academy of Dermatology' has stated that non sterile tattooing practices have led to the transmission of dangerous diseases like syphilis and hepatitis B etc.
Before getting tattooed, you must ensure that your tattoo artist uses disposable needles for each patient and properly sterilizes his tattoo equipments. Proper care should be taken after the tattooing session to avoid the risk of getting allergic from the color pigments and dyes used in tattooing and thus are rendered vulnerable to infections as dangerous as gangrene.
Some people get allergic because of the dispersion inks used for tattooing as the ink contains acrylic, resin or glycol. A study has shown that most tattoo artists lack the basic knowledge of some of the essential infection prevention practices.
Tattooing can also lead to skin depigmentation, granulomas (a disease in which nodules form around the particles of tattoo color pigments). And if you are prone to developing keloids, then you are at risk of that again if you decide to get tattooed.
In a few cases, there can be swelling or a burning sensation in the tattooed area. So, its highly advisable to take that extra care to avoid the health risks related to tattooing before getting tattooed.
