If proper care is not taken then the whole experience might turn out to be a disaster. So, tattoo aftercare is of great significance.
Following are the important guidelines for tattoo aftercare:-
- The tattooed area should be kept covered to keep it away from air and dirt. The bandage should be left in for a few hours to cover the open flesh.
- After taking off the bandage the area should be washed gently with water and antibacterial soap and then dry it off with a soft towel with light hands followed with the prescribed ointment.
- When the tattoo begins to itch, then it's the signal of healing. So, you need not panic and scratch it, just apply a mild lotion on it. And if you face a scabbing problem, moisturize it at small intervals and leave it to heal on its own.
- After full healing of your tattoo, you need to protect it from the sun's ultraviolet rays as these rays can fade your tattoo. Apply a minimum of 30SPF sunscreen lotion on it to protect it from the damage caused by the sun and let it glow vibrantly.
